The Friday of the weekend there was event in the morning near Kings Cross, so I decided to head there, there were a few caches on the way, especially the way I went !
After that I had arranged to meet some of the other Leeds cachers in the the afternoon to go to the Postal Museum and ride the underground mail rail. Then we went down to the first official event by the London Calling committee at St Pauls Cathedral…
And then finally I headed back up to Euston Station to meet Angel78 who was coming down from the Midlands after work.

My major concern with this trip to London was public transport… I had a train booked at 12:15 from Leeds Station, and two ways to get there, either the X84 bus, or a bus to Menston Station and the train from there.

Now from my Facebook friends I know that the buses are not reliable, often buses just don’t come, and the trains are only a little better – so I couldn’t rely on just a straightforward 11:20 bus to Menston and a train from there that got me to Leeds for 12:10.
The option before that was the 11:05 X84 bus to Leeds, which should get me there about 12:05 leaving not much time to walk down to the train station

I was working two Sarurdays in a row, so to avoid two six day weeks I took a Wednesday off in between the two… What to do ?
A trip to Harrogate was the answer, was it to go shopping, or was it to get the new Lab caches ?

Groundspeak have put out a locationless cache that they are archiving at the end of 2023, so I decided that as I only (!) need 825 caches to get to my next milestone I can, with a bit of planning and effort get to 8,000 before the end of the year and get the location less cache as my milestone.

Best get on with it then !

I’ve often said that the only way I will fill January on the grid is to have an event every day so I can get a smiley sat in the pub, as it turned out I didn’t need to do it that way

I had a list of all the local (ish) Lab caches and other caches and they tallied up with the number of days left to fill, so it was a practical proposition that wasn’t going to be to hard to do

In 2020 I had this idea of filling my calendar grid by doing Lab caches individually rather than all in one day, but it hadn’t worked out then.
So this year, there are a load of new Lab caches so I decided to try again doing one cache or Lab on the empty calendar days
