Last years first post was called Three Events to Start 2018 – so the title was almost reused for this year, however last year the three events were in the first 5 weeks of the year, this year the four events took me up to the end of March…187 caches I did in 2018, and if it hadn’t been for caching with Jen after the Mega it probably would have been only about 130-140 – I was intending to do a lot better in 2019, but it hasn’t really got off to that good a start ! The final day of 2018, as last year we got a souvenir for finding a cache on New Years Eve so that wasn’t the reason for going caching at all, we had a much more impressive milestone to reach. Next day Jen and I headed for the seaside – well with a team name like ‘Life’s a Beach’ is it any wonder we often find ourselves at the seaside ?
The seaside in question this time was Southport, I haven’t been to Southport since 2000, and that was for work purposes rather than sightseeing, for tourist stuff I haven’t been since about 1971 and the seafront has changed a whole lot since then
In between Christmas and New Year I went down to see Jen again in Shropshire, and we managed two milestones for her, the first was in the afternoon of the day I went down, we drove up towards Chester to find a specific cache… Which should have been a 4 difficulty 4.5 terrain cache, but which was much, much easier than that Continue reading
We had held a Christmas Fayre the previous two years to help raise money for our Mega, now that was over we decided to keep holding it to raise money for the next Megas – I mean Aberdeen need some way of raising money from people who live a lot South of them and Sussex Mega Committee need a way to raise money from people who live a lot North of them, so Yorkshire it is – We’ll go Mega in our own right by 2020 !
