The Ordnance Survey list has 4 Benchmarks in grid SE1749, one is a Pivot, the others are all Cut Marks.
1 – CUT MARK – GTP 2.9M NW HEDGE JUNC NW SIDE RD JUNC
MISSING
The Cut Mark is on a gatepost 2.9mtrs North West of the hedge junction to the North West side of the road junction
The Gate has been changed to a modern wider metal one, so the gatepost with the Cut Mark has gone
2 – CUT MARK – GTP 3.8M NE WALL JUNC NW SIDE MOOR LANE
MISSING
The Cut Mark is on a gatepost 3.8mtrs North East of the wall junction on the North West side of Moor Lane
Another new gate with a new gatepost and so no Cut Mark
3 – CUT MARK – GTP 3.0M NE WALL JUNC NW SIDE MOOR LANE
NOT FOUND
The Cut Mark is on a gatepost 3.0mtrs North East of the wall junction on the North West side of Moor Lane
I didn’t get the feeling that this was the original gatepost in it’s original position, it could be the right gatepost just moved a little and the Cut Mark may be on the hidden side, but I couldn’t spot it on any of the 3 sides I could see
4 – CUT MARK – GTP 3.0M NE WALL JUNC SE SIDE MOOR LANE
FOUND IN GOOD CONDITION
The Cut Mark is on a gatepost 3.0mtrs North East of the wall junction on the South East side of Moor Lane
There were several possible gateposts here and I did miss it on first inspection, but then walking away I spotted it in a place that was hidden from view at the angle I had been looking at it from
5 – PIVOT – PIVOT SE FACE WALL 22.5M NE PRODN WALL OPP SE SIDE MOOR LANE
NOT FOUND
The Pivot Mark is on the South East face of the wall on the South East side of Moor Lane, 22.5mtrs North East of a point opposite where the wall meets the other side of the road
It might be there hidden in the brambles, I can’t say I did a fingertip search !
