I was visiting my Brother who lives in a place called Dove Holes just North of Buxton. Looking on the Geocaching.com website before I went I found that there was a Church Micro just a couple of hundred yards up the road so it would have been rude not to go and find it. There is also an ancient monument called the Bull Ring just over the road from his house which has a geocache associated with it
10th July 2014 – Church Micro 5373…Dove Holes GC4ZMWJ – cache #3318
This is a Multi Cache where the clues are on what is described as a small gold plaque – I was confused at first about the plaque as it was bigger and less gold coloured than I was expecting ! but I sorted out co-ordinates based on the plaque at the start point and they seemed to be in a suitable place so I wandered over and looked in the immediately obvious place… and as everyone else seems to have done before me found the immediately obvious place is not the right spot – so I checked the logs and found where I was going wrong and followed the clues in a previous finders log to get to the right spot… narsty amount of nettles but I managed to get away with just one sting !
10th July 2014 – The Bull Ring. GC12D29 – cache #3319
My brother lives just the other side of the A6 from the Bull Ring so I took a few minutes to walk over to the Bull Ring and find the cache… as others have found the log is too wet to sign, the cache needs some attention – possibly a waterproof capsule to fit inside the hide…
