The Ordnance Survey list has 3 Benchmarks in grid SE1748, all of which are normal Cut Marks
1 – CUT MARK – MOORSIDE COTT S ANG SE FACE NW SIDE ASKWITH LANE
FOUND IN GOOD CONDITION
The Cut mark is on the South corner of the South East face of Moorside Cottage on the North West side of Askwith Lane
Although the cottage has had quite a bit of upgrading done on it to turn it from a farmworkers cottage into a modern residence the mark has not been disturbed… unlike many it is contained within one stone and not over a mortar course between stones thus suffering the effects of repointing
2 – CUT MARK – BLDG IBBOTSON FM 17.8M SW ANG S FACE
FOUND IN GOOD CONDITION
The Cut mark is on the South face of one of the buildings of Ibbotson’s Farm, 17.8Mtrs from the SOouth West Corner
Although the photograph seems to show that the mark is on a corner this is not the South West corner referred to in the description… it is actually the corner of a big barn doorway.
3 – CUT MARK – BR EAST BECK 5.5M SW ANG WALL S SIDE MOOR LANE
MISSING
The Cut mark is on the South side of the bridge carrying Moor Lane over East Beck, 5.5mtrs South West of the wall angle
Unfortunately the bridge wall has been taken down and rebuilt, the mark is missing
