Caches No’s 1005 to 1008 – Back In The Saddle Again

9th February 2011 – SideTracked – Airedale Line: Saltaire – Cache #1005
Last winter I did no caching from my 200th find when I was away in November to the first weeke in February, this winter although I managed a few caches after I had been away in November I only managed to find 1 cache in December and none at all in January (- okay I am blaming the Sciatica for keeping me off the caching trail)
So when it got to the beginning of February and there were new caches placed out within easy distance of work it was obviously time to get back on the cache trail.

The first cache I decided to do was one I could get to in a lunchtime, there are actually three new caches around the Saltaire area but it is a very busy place and this one was the only one that wasn’t crowded with people – the other two are both by benches which are popular at lunchtimes with children from the nearby school as well as Mothers will small children throwing bread at ducks

10th February 2011 – Belles walk # 3: Chevin-ron – cache #1006
A cache that is on the route I drive home most days, the trouble is there isn’t anywhere particularly close by to park so I drove up one lunchtime, parked a couple of hundred yards around the corner and walked down to the cache spot.
I was in full view of all he passers by in their cars while I was at the cache, but they couldn’t see what I was doing as the cache is hidden at the back of a large road sign
At this cache I dropped off the Foggy TB that I had been holding onto for far too long

16th February 2011 – Belles walk # 2: The tree – cache #1007
After a few days of inclement weather lunchtime caches were back on the agenda and I set off to do a couple more of the Belles Wakl series. Belles Walk starts and ends at the bottom of a steep hill, cache 3, which I have already found is at the top of the hill.
There is no way in my present debilitated condition that I want to be walking up and down the hill, in fact just getting to this cache was a trial in itself, actually getting to it wasn’t too bad, but getting back from it was a trial as it involved climbing over a stile which was easy one way and very awkwards the other way as the ground was much lower on one side than the other (easy to hop down, not so easy to ‘hop up’)
The cache wasn’t too hard to find, being in the tree roots

16th February 2011 – Belles walk # 1: The gate – cache #1008
I’d walked past this cache to get to the prevous one first, mainly cos there was someone in a car just near it, they had gone when I came back so I had no problem finding the cache at the gate
