I’m not saying Lincolnshire is a dull place with little of interest to see, but the daytime events were either in the city itself or 60 odd miles away at the seaside… firstly we had a day at Cleethorpes, primarily to have a Cache in Trash out clean up… I wasn’t there at the very start, but Matthew arrived at a similar time, so we went out to clean the beach up together – not that there was much to clean, and as we were late others had got to most of the litter there first
4th August 2021 – LM21: Cleetho Seato GC9CQBE – cache #5438
4th August 2021 – Humber Estuary Short Stroll GC2G0C1 – cache #5439
Found by Sam539… buried in the hedge, so we cleared the rubbish out of the hedge while we were there
4th August 2021 – Let’s improve the outdoors – Locationless Cache GC8NEAT – cache #5440
A location less cache for which the criteria was to take part in a Cito event… I don’t do many of these but this one counted for a souvenir
4th August 2021 – Humber Estuary Viewpoints Lab Cache – Tetney Marshes / Humberston Fitties – cache #5441
The first of this series of Labs was here, so naturally we logged it
4th August 2021 – South Sea Holiday: Aitutaki, Cook Islands GC20732 – cache #5442
Quite a trail of people going to and from this cache which was close by the car park where the Cito was located
4th August 2021 – Historical Cleethorpes Lab Cache – Greenwich Meridian line – cache #5443
The Greenwich Meridian runs up through the country and out to sea here (for a short while, as of course it then crosses through a small part of Yorkshire the other side of the Humber estuary)
4th August 2021 – The Meridian Line GC64ECZ – cache #5444
The Meridian Line is nowhere near the satellite’s 0 degrees, I had to go about 100 yards down the path from the monument to get the GPS to read 0 000.000
4th August 2021 – Historical Cleethorpes Lab Cache – Leaking boot statue – cache #5445
The thing abut the seaside is that you have to have fish and chips while you are there… so I did while I was walking from one end of Cleethorpes beach to the other doing these lab caches
4th August 2021 – Historical Cleethorpes Lab Cache – Cleethorpes Railway Station – cache #5446
I once came to Cleethorpes by train… it was 1986, long before caching was invented, but a very eventful trip… a return visit to this station holds some interesting memories for me (though I have been to Cleethorpes many times since !)
4th August 2021 – Historical Cleethorpes Lab Cache – Cleethorpes pier – cache #5447
It’s about the shortest pier in the country – more of a jetty than a pier
4th August 2021 – Humber Estuary Viewpoints Lab Cache – Humber Forts / Spurn Lighthouse – cache #5448
The second of this set of caches, now I had done two I was obliged to do the rest
4th August 2021 – Historical Cleethorpes Lab Cache – Ross Castle and Pier Gardens – cache #5449
Nearly missed this one – it was only when I got back in my car to leave that I realised I had missed it… so I drove past and found you couldn’t quite get close enough in a car, so I drove round and abandoned my car at the side of the road and rushed over to get within the geofence as quick as I could before I blocked the traffic up completely
4th August 2021 – Humber Estuary Viewpoints Lab Cache – Horse Shoe Point – cache #5450
A drive up the coast now to get the last three of these Lab caches
4th August 2021 – Humber Estuary Viewpoints Lab Cache – Grainthorpe Haven – cache #5451
The road here soon became a farm track, which soon became little more than a tractor path around a field… not exactly good for your car suspension (but as it leads to a Water Board facility it is a drivable right of way)
4th August 2021 – Humber Estuary Viewpoints Lab Cache – Donna Nook – cache #5452
The last of the series, overlooking the bombing range, park your car and walk for 25 minutes to get to the location
4th August 2021 – LM21: Party Time! GC9CQAH – cache #5453
Party Time ? more like Socialising time…
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 1. Red Route – cache #5454
But some Labs came out just as it was getting dark… I didn’t have my torch with me, but that didn’t really stop me going out into the woods in the dark (which was quite perilous at times navigating ‘off path’ through densely packed trees and bushes – not that it was dark when I set off !
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 2. Blue Route – cache #5455
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 3. Green Route – cache #5456
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 4. Yellow Route – cache #5457
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 10. Hunter in the woods – cache #5458
There were those who did have torches… here are Matthew, Kerry and Jeff who I came across lost in the woods (though whether they were lost or I was who can say ?)
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 9. Yellow Route – cache #5459
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 7. Blue Route – cache #5460
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 8. Green Route – cache #5461
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 6. Red Route – cache #5462
4th August 2021 – UK Mega 2021 – After Dark! Lab Cache – 5. Polaris – cache #5463
