Not St Ives in Cornwall, nor even St Ives in Cambridgshire, but the St Ives estate near Bingley, West Yorkshire.
It was a nice sunny morning and I felt like going for a walk, and I didn’t know where to go so I decided to go to a place I had been somewhat avoiding for no good reason. The St Ives estate is a cache rich area that although only 8 miles from home I have only visited once before so there are many caches for me to find… Continue reading

Cache No. 3172 – GC4ARJP TRIG (revisited (again))
28th April 2014 – TRIG GC4ARJP – cache #3172
Having tried and failed twice to find the Trig puzzle cache up on the moor I had a message from the CO that he had been to check and the cache had indeed gone missing… and that he had put out a replacement, so I went to have another look for it, without my GPS, I mean I remembered where my co-ordinates had taken me first time and I knew I was only a few yards out with them… I thought I knew where it would be hidden as well – but it wasn’t there so I had to spend another ten minutes or so searching round in an ever widening spiral until I found it…
Caches No’s 3168 to 3171 – Happy Birthday To Me
Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday FOX 661L, Happy Birthday to me…
Last year on my birthday I went out to find a 5/5 puzzle cache without the co-ordinates (see cache #2439), this year it was on a Saturday and I decided to go shopping instead !
While I was out I did a new Earthcache that had appeared in Harrogate. In the evening there was an event to ‘celebrate’ the return of a group of local cachers who had flown to Dublin for the day to get some of the interesting caches there… They had also held an event in Dublin before they set off home Continue reading
Caches No’s 3158 to 3167 – Four Days of New Caches and Old Caches
Having spent a long weekend caching with Angel78 and increasing my count for 2014 from 36 to 85 I had got back into the habit of caching, so when a local cache was put out I went for it and got a First to Find… then the next day 3 new caches were put out locally and I got another FTF… Then I thought as well as the new caches I would have a drive round and pick up a couple of caches that had been out years but I had not previously stopped off to find. At the weekend we had found every cache we went looking for, but that wasn’t the case with the ones at home, a couple had gone missing – or at least I couldn’t find them ! Continue reading
Caches No’s 3149 to 3157 – The Long Drive Home From Brean
All good things come to an end, and so on the Monday morning Angel78 and I said goodbye to our friends and set off home up the motorway… for all of two junctions until we turned off onto our alternate route which took us to Church Micros, YOSM’s and a Virtual Cache. It actually took me nearly 12 hours from Brean to getting home, though I did spend about 3 hours at Angel78’s on the way ! Continue reading
Caches No’s 3130 to 3148 – A Visit To Wells
After the hangover the day before I didn’t drink quite so much vodka the next evening and so was fit and ready to go at the time Angel78 had determined we were to set off 10.24AM (much to the amusement of the people in her caravan who thought my promptness was a bit too much for a drunken weekend.
We had decided to go to Wells, and get a few caches on the way picking up a few caches along the way. As there are so many caches around we decided to only stop for Church Micros and Earthcaches (even though this meant we walked past some caches) Though parking up and picking up Church Micros is not always the easiest thing to do on a Sunday Morning. Continue reading
